SABA IS AMONG 5 MILLION CHILDREN in Yemen who have been left malnourished after a decade of civil war. When she was about 9 months
old, her family fled and resettled in a remote village after an artillery shell hit their home. The community lacked many services, including medical care. Saba became acutely malnourished and needed a special blend of therapeutic food to save her life and prevent disabilities such as stunted growth and impaired development. After several months in the care of a Samaritan’s Purse nutrition team, she is a picture of health and hope. We work in troubled places around the world to care for children like Saba, offering them “a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11).
