Samaritan's Purse Films from the Frontlines of Ukraine
One Morning at Dawn
In the midst of incredible suffering, Samaritan's Purse has been providing massive relief in Ukraine for over 18 months. Partnering with Ukrainian churches and others, we are bringing critically needed food, water, and other critical items to areas devastated by war. We are also tarping roofs and restoring homes, whether damaged by missiles, gunfire, or catastrophic flooding from the collapse of the Kherson dam. To help families and the elderly endure the winter months, we supply stoves, wood, and solar lights.
Samaritan's Purse is also looking after the needs of children caught in the conflict, providing thousands of backpacks, complete with toys, a hat, and a booklet that tells them that God loves them. We're also giving hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian boys and girls Operation Christmas Child shoebox gifts along with the Good News of Jesus Christ.
When war first erupted on 24 February 2022, Samaritan's Purse quickly responded by providing urgent medical care. Early on, we operated an Emergency Field Hospital in Lviv to help the millions displaced by conflict. Later last year, we ran a similar field hospital in a recently liberated area of eastern Ukraine. We are also providing medical training on an ongoing basis.
All of this relief is provided in Jesus’ Name while we also distribute Bibles in their language. So far, we praise God that we have had the privilege of serving more than 9 million Ukrainians.
“Please join me in praying for peace in Ukraine,” said Samaritan's Purse President Franklin Graham, “and that the people we are serving will know that God loves them and has not forgotten them in this dark time.”
