Caring for Displaced Mothers in War-Torn Sudan
Recent conflict between warring factions has forced millions of Sudanese mothers and their children to flee for safety. Many have come to Gedaref, in the country’s east. Local medical services were overrun by the influx of newcomers, so Samaritan’s Purse set up an Emergency Field Hospital there from mid-December 2024 to mid-March 2025.
Our teams of doctors, nurses, and pharmacists provided outpatient services to over 9,000 people while admitting more than 1,400 others for inpatient care. As they treated the sick, the cries of new life were also heard as they delivered over 500 babies, nearly 200 of which were by caesarean section.
Watch the above video to see how Samaritan’s Purse showed love to Sudanese families through our Emergency Field Hospital.

Equips us to help displaced families settle in new countries while we also share the promise that God will be with them.
