“Join in the world’s largest children’s Christmas project. Through Operation Christmas Child, show God’s love in a tangible way to needy children around the world, and partner with local churches worldwide to share the Good News of Jesus Christ”
Thank you for making contact with us regarding volunteering. As you may already know, a small shoebox can have a big impact. What goes into the box is fun, but what comes out of it is eternal. We are delighted that you are interested in finding out how you can be a part of changing children’s lives all over the world in Jesus’ Name through the power of a simple gift with Operation Christmas Child.
Below you will find some information which describes how you can be involved in volunteering with Operation Christmas Child. Please review these three key areas and let us know which best describes you. We will then connect you with an appropriate team near you.
Available to volunteer in a local team, for a few hours every month of the year? You will have an interest in the ministry of OCC and in growing support with Churches, groups, schools, media, prayer networks, and individuals. You will inspire others to donate or volunteer, affirming their participation, while also looking at new support for the ministry. You are aligned with our Statement of Faith. You possess strong interpersonal skills, are interested in representing OCC at events, or speaking in Churches or schools and also enjoy working as part of a team in a local area with others who share the same heart for this amazing Ministry.Read our Statement of Faith Complete our year-round volunteer form
Available, for 1, 2 or 3 weeks during the months of October and November. You really enjoy hands on activity: organising the collection of boxes from Drop Off Points, Church Collection Centres, schools etc.; checking the contents ready for export whilst some really enjoy the administration side of things. You will be a strong team player and recognise that we each have something to offer.

Available two or three times throughout the year. Your main responsibility is to motivate and coordinate people in a specific local church, school, or workplace to pack shoeboxes each year. Project Leaders have a great relationship with their local volunteer Church Relations or Community Relations Coordinator. There will be an invitation each year to come along to an annual OCC Project Leader information meeting where you will be able to pick up ideas to share with your church, school or group as well as staying up to date on how the Ministry is growing. You are great at organising and coordinating: taking responsibility for ordering the resources on line as well as coordinating the collection of the boxes once they have been filled, and then arranging for them to be transported to the local collection centres.
