Operation Christmas Child Operations & Logistics Assistant Manager

Samaritan’s Purse is recruiting a new team in the West Midlands to run the logistics and operations of collecting, processing and exporting all Operation Christmas Child (OCC) shoebox gifts donated annually in the UK.

A resourceful and highly organised project manager is needed to plan and deliver operations that are not only safe, efficient and cost-effective, but also encourage the enthusiastic participation of supporters and logistics volunteers. You should have excellent process skills and also strong people skills, being determined and delighted to serve supporters well.
This work will make a vital contribution towards accomplishing OCC’s mission to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to needy children around the world and together with the local church worldwide, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.

The role holder will plan and execute the entire export process (currently 50-100 lorries or shipping containers to 12 destinations annually during November and December), coordinate registration and administration of a nationwide network of processing centres and manage facilities at the West Midlands processing centre.
You will also support the Head of Operations & Logistics to deliver the major change project required to transition to centralised processing supported by a nationwide network of Church Collection Centres (CCCs).

You will have proven operational management and administrative experience in work, church or personal contexts and be educated to degree level or equivalent. You will enthusiastically support the Christian purposes of OCC and Samaritan’s Purse.

Due to the nature and context of this post the successful candidate will need to be a committed Christian able to fully commit to our Statement of Faith. Salary £29k-£34k pa
